Author Matthew Sanford and singer-songwriter Leslie Ball

A celebration of words and music

It took a devastating car accident, paralysis from the chest down, and dependence on a wheelchair before I truly realized the importance of waking both my mind and my body.

Join us in welcoming Matthew Sanford, author of WAKING: A Memoir of Trauma and Transcendence. Matthew Sanford has inspired and enriched the lives of thousands by sharing the fundamental importance of the mind-body relationship. Sanford will discuss and read from his book, which will be available for sale and author signing.

Leslie Ball, Minnesota singer and songwriter, will perform songs from her first solo recording, Loring Park, which earned her a Minnesota Music Award for best female songwriter. Leslie has performed on stages around the country from the Guthrie Theater to Carnegie Hall.

Event is free. Preregistration is required and opens Dec. 15. Call the Heritage Library at 952-891-0362 or register online at www.heritagelibraryfriends.com. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres provided by Green Mill.

A Minnesota Legacy program. Ages: 12 and older.
